Education

  • Ph.D. (Plant Breeding), Cornell University, USA
  • B.Sc. (Horticulture) (First-Class Honours), Kasetsart University, Thailand

Area of Expertise

  • Disease resistant and abiotic stress tolerant varieties are crucial for sustainable crop production. We focus on breeding of economic crops e.g., mungbean and orchid for disease resistance, and cassava for drought and salt tolerance using various biotechnological tools and conventional plant breeding.

Current Research

  • Breeding of Dendrobium orchid for resistance to black rot via mutagenesis
  • Development of molecular markers linked to powdery mildew and leaf spot resistance and pyramiding multiple resistance genes in mungbean
  • Breeding of cassava for drought and salt tolerance by in vitro selection
