SUT and State University of Malang (UM) signed a memorandum of understanding on academic and research cooperation.

On Friday 21st October 2022, Associate Professor Dr. Anan Tongraar, Rector of Suranaree University of Technology (SUT), Professor Dr. Santi Maensiri, Dean of Institute of Science, Assistant Professor Dr. Wipawee Usaha, Director of Center for International Affairs, welcomed Professor Dr. Sukowiyono, S.H., M.Hum, Chairman of Senate Board, Prof. Dr. AH. Rofi’uddin, M.Pd, Rector, faculties and staff from State University of Malang (UM), Indonesia, on the occasion of attending the memorandum of understanding signing ceremony at SUT front office, Bangkok.

The ceremony began with a university introduction by both rectors from two universities. They gave an overview of the university’s academic, research, and innovation development through graphic and video presentation, as well as history and background information.

In additions, the Director of Center for International Affairs, SUT, summarized the outputs from previous collaboration and the importance of this memorandum of understanding which plans to enhance new curricula, academic exchange, and research collaboration.

In the end, both parties signed an academic and research memorandum of understanding for a period of five years. The agreement aims to produce at least five joint research publications, five exchange students, and one academic conference.

State University of Malang (Universitas Negeri Malang) is a state university in Malang. It is one of the national universities of the Republic of Indonesia. The university was originally found as an educational institution for teachers and science for education. Founded in 1954, it is one of the oldest educational institutions in the country. Currently, it is ranked by the Higher Education Commission of Indonesia as the country’s A-class university.
